![]() i wanted a easy laptop to bring around, but i only considerd the 16 only cuz the 10 soc. i have been trying to understand the peformance difference etc, and i rly did not want to waste my money. i have beeen soo back and forth between the 14 and 16 inch, ONLY because the 16 had 10 soc and the 14 had 8 soc. i have an iphone 13 pro max and ipad 12.9 and a apple watch series 7, and im getting me a new Mac book Pro, it is my first one, and im rly the kind of person that want to get something good and "future" proof when i first get something. I am a apple user, but have never ever owned a mac book pro. I realy realy needed this post today, u have no idea mate. If you have to ask, you absolutely 100% DO NOT NEED IT. Otherwise just get an M1 and save SO MUCH MONEY! If you absolutely love the new laptops, get the base model unless you KNOW you need something more powerful. The amount of times I’ve seen in the comments of recommendation threads “oh definitely get the 32 10 core” or “the OS and 2 chrome tabs use 8gb ram” is frankly insane. Memory pressure is never high, the OS is fantastic at memory optimisation. I use a usb c scratch disk, otherwise everything is on the MacBook Air. Renders are faster than real time, even in premiere. I use the base model 8gb M1 MacBook Air and it NEVER skips a beat. My content involves animations in logic or after effects, many rendered effects, luts, multiple streams, POV’s etc. Being convinced by people who have no idea what they are talking about to get the M1 max or max out their machine to 64gb for “FuTuRe PrOoFiNg BrO!” Wondering what spec they should get to do x. This post is for all the people out there worrying about the costs of the new MacBook Pro’s.
